Veterans Magazine

San Diego Veterans Magazine is a publication that features articles of interest to transitioning service members, veterans, spouses and families, along with active military members. Featured in an insert with this publication was a piece about Saved in America that explained the volunteer force that makes up this non-profit organization and how this group is fighting the battle against the evils of human trafficking on the home front. This non-profit organization is based in San Diego California, but works to find kids nationwide, even working to rescue some kids taken across the border.

Why This Service is Needed

Many Americans are blissfully unaware that there exists such an evil right within the confines of the United States. However, in reality, human trafficking and sex trafficking in general are a booming industry that only seems to be growing more powerful and harder to stop. Thankfully, Saved in America, which is made up of volunteers who have extensive professional training, through either the military or law enforcement experience, have been working to fight back against this growing evil and rescue kids from the clutches of the industry.

How Saved in America Works

Saved in America is an all-volunteer organization, meaning no one gets paid for their services and no family who needs help finding their missing child is ever charged for this service. This group will use surveillance and known military tactics to track down and find the missing child. Then, they will coordinate with local law enforcement, who will then take over the actual rescue. Each volunteer with SIA is a licensed and insured private investigator, which is necessary to ensure that the law is followed throughout the rescue process.

Inspired by Terror Hunters

Founder of Saved in America Joseph Travers was inspired to create SIA after reading an article, entitled Terror Hunters, about a group of military professionals who were fighting back against human trafficking abroad. Due to his extensive law enforcement experience in America, Travers knew that the problem was just as significant at home. Therefore, that among other cases, like that of Brittanee Drexel, inspired Travers to form what is now Saved in America with the help of some other military and law enforcement specialists. Giving to this organization will ensure that they will keep fighting back against this crime for many years to come.
