Real America

The News Podcast, Real America with Dan Ball,

brings you the latest political headlines through interviewing the newsmakers of the day, hosted by Saved in America’s founder, Joseph Travers on a January episode. Throughout the podcast, the horrors of Human Trafficking in America and the need for more organizations like Saved in America to stand up for kids who are being victimized by this hideous crime in record numbers were discussed.

Good News to be Had

Thankfully, the news is not all bleak as there have been some wins in the battle for innocence fighting against the predators who use kids as a commodity. The United States Marshals Office for example, recently rescued five missing 14 to 17-year-olds and arrested 30 sex offenders in New Orleans in a massive human trafficking ring bust. This is an example of just one victory that is far too infrequent in this war against sex trafficking.

How Saved in America Helps

As part of the show, show host Dan Ball explains the way that Saved in America works to help families who are facing the nightmarish reality of having a child who is missing and being victimized by the human trafficking industry. Saved in America works with law enforcement and the victims' families to track them down and find them, eventually organizing their rescue through law enforcement agencies, and has overseen more than 200 rescues.

Author and Former Law Enforcement Officer

In addition to the work he has done through Saved in America, founder Joseph Travers has also served in law enforcement. In addition, he has authored the immensely helpful resource Investigation of Missing and Exploited Children: The Gateway to Child Sex Trafficking. Travers, along with several professional volunteers who had a mixture of law enforcement and military backgrounds, began the arduous process of trying to locate and rescue missing children in 2014 through the non-profit organization Saved in America.

The Importance of Organizations Like Saved in America

The growing problem of human trafficking within America’s borders demands an increased effort when it comes to fighting back. The bad guys, the triad of evil, made up of prison gangs, street gangs, and drug cartels cannot be allowed to continue their destructive money-making schemes that serve only to hurt children and devastate families. This is where Saved in America comes in and stands up for what is right and fights for those who are unable to fight for themselves.
