Special Ops

Military special ops represent a unique type of individual. This person is not merely worthy of admiration due to their military service, but they have been set apart as specialists within the broader military brotherhood. This piece by Kimberly Hunt at ABC 10 NEWs follows our organization at Saved In America as we assist in the recovery of children from human trafficking utilizing special ops volunteer forces and their military experience.

Why Special Ops Professionals Are Uniquely Qualified to Aid in Trafficking Cases

Saved In America was founded by a former police detective as well as special force operators who had been trained through their elite military service. This specialized training includes a variety of unique skills, such as an in-depth understanding of surveillance and working undercover. This experience allows these retired military professionals to be uniquely qualified to help track down and find lost teens who are currently missing or being exploited.

The Problem is Immense, the Need Great

The Department of Justice estimated that around 5,700 local San Diego teenagers are currently trapped in sex trafficking each and every year. Around 80% of them are American kids. This means, human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery, is far from a problem only affecting third-world countries or less civilized societies. No, in our own country, the great United States of America, we are currently experiencing a crisis of immense proportions. Therefore, the need to track down and find these kids is significant and the demand for educated, specially trained volunteers is paramount.

Why Can’t Law Enforcement Handle the Problem?

Many people mistakenly assume that problems like sex trafficking should be easily handled or at least adequately addressed by local police departments. Unfortunately, police departments across the nation are woefully understaffed and overwhelmed with other responsibilities like tracking down drug dealers and other problems. Each runaway child requires a great deal of surveillance, which isn’t a quick process, and it becomes obvious that there exists a disconnect between the need that exists and the availability of police departments to fulfill and meet those needs.

Saved In America & Special Ops Forces Are Here

Thankfully, our organization at Saved In America is made up of volunteers with unique experience thanks to their special ops service within our country’s military. They are here and ready to help aid police departments as they fight for the freedoms of those caught in human trafficking with Saved In America. #ChildSavedNotSold
