Risen Magazine

Risen Magazine, published in San Diego, California, provides a unique look at a variety of issues with a backdrop of faith. The publication is about faith, hope, and love and proudly asks questions no one else is asking. Risen Magazine utilized its interesting flare for digging deeper when it interviewed our own Joseph Travers. This story explains how a team of top-skilled operatives use their special skills to rescue girls. It’s worth a read in its entirety.

About Saved In America

As you might expect, this interview of Joseph Travers quickly turns to look at his organization Saved in America, and what this nonprofit is doing to save America’s youth one girl at a time. The first question towards Travers is actually about what led him to start such an organization. He explains that he heard about a similar type of operation that was rescuing girls overseas from the horrors of human trafficking or sex trafficking. This gave him the idea to do something similar but to base it on the United States. Although many people do not realize it, human trafficking is just as prevalent if not more so in America than it is in third-world countries.

The Group of Volunteers

Creating a group of specialists who would dedicate their time and effort towards finding missing girls meant assembling a team of professionals who would use the skills they had obtained through years of military and police work, free of charge, to help families fight back against a real-life nightmare scenario. Today, this team is made up of over 30 volunteers who have military training or law enforcement skills that they used throughout their professional careers. They are also all licensed private investigators, which is important for being able to do the work necessary while following the rule of law.

Why Law Enforcement Can’t Do it Alone

Because human trafficking is growing exponentially in America, law enforcement alone cannot possibly oversee every case and track down and find every missing girl. They are undermanned and woefully underfunded. Therefore, organizations like Saved in America proudly step into the gap and help fill in where law enforcement simply cannot do the work necessary to find missing girls. Of course, Saved in America proudly works alongside law enforcement as a team effort, helping them find missing girls and then letting law enforcement go in for the rescue.
