America Trends I

America Trends, with Aimee Fuller, Part A looked at the surprising trend of human trafficking and how they exploit young girls for immense profit by selling them over and over for sexual acts to the highest bidder. On the show, the founder of Saved In America (SIA), Joseph Travers explains the mission of SIA and the immensely important work this organization is doing to combat the ever-growing problem of human slavery within America.

The Missing Link

Joseph explains that SIA has been described as the “missing link” between the victims of human trafficking and the time in which it would take law enforcement to investigate the missing person. In reality, law enforcement agencies are simply overwhelmed, undermanned, and woefully underfunded when it comes to having the resources necessary to fight back against the atrocities of human trafficking. Joseph further explains that some 60% of all missing children will end up being sold into the human trafficking industry. Therefore, finding them quickly, once they go missing is so important towards ensuring a good outcome. Unfortunately, law enforcement agencies are often backed up with cases and can’t give these runaways the attention they need as quickly as necessary, which is where SIA steps in and serves as that missing link.

Immediate Help

Thankfully, SIA works to find a missing child as soon as the girl is reported missing by her family or a representative of her family.  No time is wasted. This group, made up of professional volunteers with backgrounds in law enforcement, military specialties, and more, are all licensed and insured private investigators who are well-equipped and trained to do the job at hand of finding missing girls before they become the victims of human trafficking.

SIA Helps Other Organizations

In addition to helping law enforcement organizations combat the growing problem of human trafficking, SIA has also served as a resource for federal organizations like the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and The U.S. Human Trafficking Information Exchange Group , amongst others. SIA doesn’t believe in keeping their knowledge to themselves when spreading it around to the right agencies that could serve to collectively save more children. #ChildSavedNotSold
