Mark Larson

Known as one of our community’s most honest and intelligent voices, Mark Larson of the Mark Larson Show, AM 760 welcomed our own Joseph Travers—founder of Saved in America— along with a member of the Board of Directors Stefanie Myers to his podcast for an engaging segment on missing kids and human trafficking. This October 15, 2021 podcast explored the immense evil that exists surrounding human trafficking as well as what can be done to fight back.

Saved in America

Our organization, Saved in America works tirelessly—free of charge— to serve families who have missing or exploited children. In many SIA cases, these children are thankfully saved or rescued before they become victims of the industry.  Our founder Joseph Travers was happy to talk with Mark Larson on his show about not only the way our organization works but also includes more information about the need for this kind of resource as it exists today.

Ground Zero for Human Trafficking

Unfortunately, in San Diego, California, where the Mark Larson Show is based as is Saved in America, we are ground zero for the human trafficking industry. This is due to our unique location being close to the border, allowing for an evil triad to exist. This evil triad is made up of prison and street gangs along with drug cartels. Human trafficking was and continues to explode post-pandemic as more and more kids were forced online for school and other matters and have now become victims of online exploits. In addition, drug cartels have discovered that they can sell and resell to human beings over and over again. This differs from the way they market drugs as it is a one-time purchase, making human trafficking an ever-increasing problem throughout the nation.

Open Borders Causing Issues

Another important component of human trafficking touched on during this segment was the problem of open borders. This means that anyone and everyone can access America and come right through our country’s southern border. Sadly,  a group of these individuals are seeking not to help others make a better life but to victimize those who are trying to better themselves. This has only added to the problem that already existed and has created further challenges for law enforcement to fight back against the evil industry.
