Joseph Travers' Background Ideal For Fighting Human Trafficking

Saved In America founder, Joseph Travers, is a veteran of the United States Navy, a former police officer and currently a licensed and insured private investigator. His background prepared him perfectly for fighting what many believe to be America’s most pressing crisis. This along with the experience of former Navy SEALs who joined him to form Saved In America, allows the organization to not only find children but to procure them legal representation, safe housing and rehabilitative therapy after rescue. 

Making an Impact

Veterans tend to want to turn their skills and experience into ways of helping others after serving their countries. It is a lifestyle of service they maintain even after their years of military enlistment are over. When Joseph found himself looking for a way to make an impact, after his service, he was met with the harsh reality of the current sex trafficking industry. He told the story of a girl who ran away and was taken by traffickers and explained how the modern evil triad exists in today’s America that combines the evils of gangs, pimps and drug cartels. These predators who victimize people with the use of drugs have now found that trafficking humans instead of drugs are a lot more profitable. This has led to an immense increase in the sex trafficking industry and has left police departments overwhelmed with the need to find missing and exploited children.

Why Volunteers Are Necessary to Rescue Kids

America’s police forces are overwhelmed and understaffed. Consider this along with the fact that more kids are missing now than ever before, and it's obvious America has a crisis on its hands. Thankfully, organizations like Saved In America— through the volunteer efforts of veterans like Travers— are able to come alongside law enforcement and parents to locate and restore these children, sometimes before they are even sold into the industry in the first place.  Of course, other times, they are not found before the bad guys get to them, which is why a fast response is so important. #ChildSavedNotSold
