SB 145

We the People Bill Saved in America.jpeg

The sex trafficking industry is at epidemic levels globally and is a growing problem in every state of the nation, with California being the state with the most cases at the present time. This problem is one that needs to be addressed, combated, focused on and more. It most certainly should not be made easier. In other words, the perpetrators who are arrested for human trafficking should be punished as severely as legally possible to perhaps dissuade more criminals from entering the industry. However, instead of making it harder on these criminals, unfortunately bills like SB145 are making it easier on those who wish to victimize children.

What Does SB145 Do in Terms of Sex Offenders?

This bill makes it non-mandatory for certain perpetrators who are convicted of sex crimes with children to register as a sex offender. In other words, it makes it where the authorities within the area are unable to keep tabs on these offenders who have been convicted of serious crimes with children through the typical sex offender registration process, because it will no longer be mandatory for judges to make an offender register. Why this bill would be passed when the problem of sex trafficking is only expounding makes no sense. This move is heading in the complete opposite direction of where the nation should be going.

Leadership Has to Protect Kids, Not Put Them at Greater Risk

The SB145 bill is just one example of how the wrong kind of leadership being in office can lead to a breakdown in the protection of the legal system, which is supposed to protect crime victims, children being the most vulnerable among them. Therefore, it’s vitally important that all voters keep up with the politicians they are supporting to ensure that they are voting in harmony with their beliefs and what they hold dear. As it was stated once and bears repeating, “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (women) to do nothing.” Vote with your conscience and prevent bills like SB145 from ever making it into law. #ChildSavedNotSold
