Saved not Sold

Saved in America hosts various types of events to raise resources for their services as well as to increase the general awareness of the population when it comes to human trafficking. At the 5th Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Rally, an event designed just for that purpose, the founder of Saved in America Joseph Travers spoke to the crowd about SIA and the need for each child to be saved and not sold into human trafficking.

The Need for Awareness

Children are being victimized by human trafficking in record numbers. While some do know of this problem, namely law enforcement and those who have experienced this first-hand or within their circle of friends and family, many do not understand the immense danger presented by the triad of evil when it comes to human trafficking. Drug cartels, street gangs, and prison gangs are now ultra-involved in human trafficking as they have realized the profit they can make off a renewable resource like a human. Unlike weapons or drugs, a human can be sold time and time again for hundreds of thousands of dollars of profit.

Saved Not Sold

When a girl goes missing, not from being kidnapped but instead in many cases, simply walking away or running away from home, she is at immense risk for trafficking during the first 48 hours. Therefore, to ensure a child is saved and not sold, it takes immense effort on the part of law enforcement, friends and families, and organizations like Saved in America to step in and do the hard work necessary to find missing kids before they are trafficked. Of course, they can be rescued after that happens, but by then a great deal of trauma has occurred, which makes going on and living a healthy, happy, productive life that much harder. So, time is of the essence.

Saved in America is Here to Help

Thankfully, even with the uptick in human trafficking numbers, SIA is still just as committed to rescuing every child, ensuring they are saved not sold. To do this, they depend on donations from those who care about the cause as they do not charge any family, ever, even one penny for their services. If you would like to be involved in the mission of a child saved not sold, consider giving to SIA today.
