As the leading lifestyle brand in South and North Texas, Living Magazine recently spotlighted our own Saved in America as a way to highlight the good in the nation. Founder, Joseph Travers provided the narrative shared in this magazine— whose reach is immense— in hopes of bringing even greater awareness to SIA and the evil they are fighting against. Pastor and founder Travers explains that the Bible states, in Isaiah 6:8 “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us, ‘then I said, ‘Here am I’ll Send me.” 

Foundation of SIA

This scripture provides the foundation for the entire SIA organization as a group that is willing to go, willing to be sent even into danger or the depth of hideous evil to rescue and save that which is lost. Beginning in September 2009, Travers was impressed upon to begin an organization whose sole purpose would be to fight back against the increasing evils of human trafficking within the United States. 

It’s a Problem Everywhere

While many people might assume slavery or human trafficking is a problem only found in third-world countries or those that are poor, this industry is thriving, even within America. Thankfully, SIA has become a force to be reckoned with throughout the past several years and has successfully rescued over 260 children from the human trafficking industry. Not only that, but the group helps assist families after the rescue by finding safe houses for these kids as well as helping them get the legal guidance they need to put these bad guys behind bars. This means they not only help while the child is missing but continue to work with the family even after they have been restored. 

Team of Professionals

Soon Travers was joined by a group of professional volunteers with a host of skills from former military specialists, to former law enforcement officers and even volunteers who understand the nuances of surveillance and computer technology. This team is what makes up SIA, and they all lend their expertise, their time, and their immense skill to help find missing and exploited kids, all free of charge. This is the way that they are following the order of the Lord to go, to fight, and to restore light in the darkness.
