Collaborative Effort

In many cases, the act of protecting children by rescuing them from the human trafficking industry is a multi-country endeavor. Case in point, our own Saved in America worked closely with Mexican law enforcement in a collaborative effort to help locate a missing 16-year-old minor, who was found by members of the International Liaison Unit of the Municipal Police of Tijuana.

The Missing Minor Found in Mexico

The minor in question was reported missing from San Diego, California by her family. When the Mexican municipality asked for address verification when observing the girl on a roadway, she was unable to give them this, which alerted Mexican authorities that something wasn’t exactly right with the 16-year-old. Thankfully, the minor was rescued and returned to her family in California thanks to the collaborative efforts of not only Saved in America but the Mexican authorities as well who recognized the girl was in danger.

Rescuing Knows no Boundaries

When it comes to finding missing or runaway children, borders mean nothing. Of course, it makes it more difficult for organizations like Saved in America to find missing children when they are taken out of the United States. However, when they work in conjunction with other countries, like in the case mentioned above, Saved in America can still get a positive outcome. Thankfully, in most cases, Saved in America is called to help with these cases before the children are taken out of the country. This makes rescuing them and organizing their return to their families much easier.

It’s a Global Problem of Epic Proportions

Unfortunately, human trafficking is a problem that touches every single country in the world. This means that no country is 100% completely safe or free from the risk of trafficking. Thankfully, organizations like our own at Saved in America work hard to combat the growth of the issue within the United States and are constantly working to make the nation safer for children of all ages.  There are currently 300,000 missing and runaway children within America’s borders, Saved in America is working to reduce this number and find those who are lost before they can become victimized by the human trafficking industry, known as modern-day slavery.  You can help with these efforts by giving to Saved in America to further fund rescue efforts throughout the nation.
