#ChildSavedNotSold

Saved in America has one very straightforward but very profound mission, and that’s to save each missing or runaway child before they are sold into human trafficking. The name of this mission is aptly named #ChildSavedNotSold. Globally, there are over two million children who are sold into the human trafficking industry, with nearly 100,000 in the United States alone. This stat presents the very real problem of human trafficking and the uphill battle Saved in America is fighting to save every child.

Awareness is Key

As is true with many causes, sometimes the most important, beneficial, or effective way to fight back against something or to limit its power is through increased awareness with a focus on education and other means. Professional volunteers with backgrounds in law enforcement and military specialties make up the team at Saved in America. This team knows the importance of awareness when it comes to fighting back against the evils of modern-day slavery. The more parents know about the risk, the better they can defend their kids, protecting them against the effective tactics used by these criminals.

It Can Happen Anywhere, to Anyone

When first hearing about human trafficking, many people mistakenly assume it is a problem that only affects the improvised, third-world countries, or perhaps Mexico. However, in reality, human trafficking impacts all sorts of families with all sorts of backgrounds. Yes, it’s easier for a criminal to target a child that doesn’t have a strong support system at home, or who is part of a foster home. That doesn’t mean that kids from good homes with strong caring families are exempt from the risk, though.

Time is of The Utmost Importance

When a child goes missing, time is of the essence. It is a ticking time bomb between which side will find the runaway first, the predators, pimps, and/or cartels who will sell them into sex slavery, or rescuers or law enforcement who will save them. Unfortunately, most police forces are understaffed and ill-equipped to track down children quickly when they go missing, especially if they seemingly ran away of their own accord. Thankfully, Saved in America is standing in the gap for these families and seeking out kids who have run away before they can fall victim to the human trafficking industry.
