Faith, Family, Fire Mile 2

On a Mile 2: Faith, Family, and Fire podcast, Travers sat down with the host and spoke about the all-important issue of human trafficking. The show begins with Travers explaining his personal history and how he served in the military then served as a police officer before he became a Christian. His embrace of faith led him to attend Bible college and then eventually start a new ministry. He wanted a way to give back and after hearing about a particularly disturbing case of human trafficking where the victim lost their lives, it inspired him to begin what eventually became Saved in America.

The Evil Triad Expanding Human Trafficking

Travers saw the beginnings of the evil triad, which today embodies the foundation of human trafficking, when he was a police officer. He said that today, there exists a dominating evil that has three main categories. The drug cartels, the prison gangs and the street gangs. This evil group has now taken over human trafficking and has realized that human beings are a more sustainable source of income, because, unlike drugs that can only be sold once, human beings can sadly be sold over, and over again. This basically means that the various evil organizations, drug dealers, pimps and gang members have now become synonymous. In other words, you do not see a drug dealer who isn’t also a pimp or a pimp who isn’t also a drug dealer.

Saved in America Created to Fight Back

Travers realized the immense reach of these evil groups and the power that they now yielded within America’s borders. The evil that everyone assumed existed only in foreign lands had come home in the worst way and was now expanding exponentially within America’s own borders, putting America’s kids at risk. This realization led Travers to create Saved in America as a way to fight back against the growing threat within American borders and to begin the painstaking task of educating Americans on the problem that has expanded within America.

Increased Education and Expanded Resources are Necessary

Saved in America has worked with government organizations, educating them on the dangers that exist within the human trafficking world. Learning the scope of the problem as it exists today is vitally important to begin the process of fighting back. After all, one has to have a good idea of what his enemy is capable of before they can form a plan to counteract their attack.
