Mobile Command

California County News was happy to report on the launch of a crime-fighting RV that is designed to make the immensely important process of rescuing kids easier. The 37-foot RV is being used as a mobile command center for the team at Saved in America and their highly-qualified volunteers according to NBC News. Founder of SIA Joseph Travers explains why this addition to the SIA team is going to make a huge difference:

“We are doing multiple recoveries at the same time, so we needed one central point of communications and a central point to put all our electronic gear, so we could accomplish what we need to accomplish.”

The Team of Volunteers

Sex trafficking is a booming industry of crime. It can be found in virtually every state of America and impacts families of all types, though kids from the foster system are at a higher risk. The team that makes up Saved in America is formed of professional volunteers who freely give their military or law enforcement expertise to track down and find missing kids before they are taken into a sex ring. Sadly, without 48 hours of a child disappearing, 60% of them will either be recruited into a human trafficking ring. Therefore, finding kids quickly after they have disappeared due to running away is a must.

Mobile Command is Key

Thankfully, the addition of the mobile command center gives SIA a central point to operate out of, meaning several rescues or cases can be going on at once, and the base will be able to help orchestrate them all. This is necessary because there are around 4,000 missing kids in San Diego alone at any given time. If a portion of those kids end up in a human trafficking ring, it’s easy to see how the growth of this industry is outpacing the manpower and resources of law enforcement. Therefore, groups like Saved in America are vital towards fighting back and stepping into the gap where there simply aren’t enough good guys for all the bad that is growing out of this inhumane industry. This new mobile command center, which also conveniently serves as a storage center for the group’s drones, electronic equipment, and more used for the rescues, allows SIA to oversee even more cases than ever before and make an even greater impact.
