Special Ops
Within the nation overall, sex trafficking is thriving and within San Diego County in particular, it is reaching staggering levels. This and more was the topic discussed by a San Diego News 10 piece that looked at how our organization, Saved in America, is working to help law enforcement deal with the immense need that exists to track down and find missing kids before they become victimized by human trafficking rings.
Extremely Profitable
As with any criminal activity, the more profitable the endeavor, the more prevalent the crime. This nearly 9 million dollar yearly industry is thriving and only getting more profitable and powerful. In addition, according to this news story that shared statistics from the Department of Justice, at the time, there were around 5,700 local teens currently trapped within this horrendous industry. Of that number, 80% were Americans. That means that this is a problem that is reaching the streets where we live and affecting kids from all walks of life and backgrounds.
How Special Ops Are Helping
Saved in America is made up of a volunteer team of professionals who have committed their careers to serving the nation through military special ops. Post-retirement, these individuals are freely giving of their immense skills and helping families and law enforcement find missing kids. As of the time of this story, Saved in America had orchestrated the successful rescue of 26 teenagers in 26 months. To date, they have helped over 260 girls find freedom from the horrors of this life.
Why Law Enforcement Welcomes the Help
While law enforcement is involved in these cases, especially when it comes time to go in and rescue the kids, they simply do not have the manpower or the resources needed to stay on top of all these thousands of missing person cases involving San Diego County youth. They are dealing with a variety of other issues and trying to keep the county safe, and to track down and find a missing child today takes immense skill and a good deal of time and patience as well, performing duties like surveillance and reconnaissance work. Therefore, to do this successfully is simply too much to ask of an already burdened police force. Thankfully, Saved in America’s team of professionals are all licensed private investigators who are happy to use their special ops skills formed in the military to rescue kids on the home front.
