Help Recovering

Saved in America is an organization committed to helping find and rescue girls trapped in the human trafficking industry. However, they understand that the work of recovery and living a healthy, productive life only begins at their rescue. In other words, getting free of the industry does not automatically mean that a girl is no longer traumatized or dealing with memories that daily make her life difficult to live. Thankfully, they come alongside families and victims to ensure that girls can go into safe houses or rehabilitation centers where they can get the help they need in a safe environment.

Other Tools

Another organization, the New Mexico Dream Center (NMDS), which is also committed to helping trafficking victims, but that isn’t related or connected to Saved in America, is working in New Mexico to formulate an app called REACH that will help connect trafficking victims with the services they need to recover.  In addition, the app is designed to not only help victims themselves but to aid service providers, the public, and even law enforcement officers, educating them on the various resources that exist. Through this app, users can find housing, drug treatments, and more to help break the cycle of addiction and trauma. Attorney General Special Counsel Adolfo Mendez explained the app’s usage as follows:

“Certainly, victims can look at it, but I think it’s geared to help people that are trying to connect victims to the services they need.”

After Rescue

After a rescue from human trafficking or an experience dealing with the industry in some form, victims are left traumatized and impacted for many years to come. Astoundingly, sometimes when rescued from these horrendous situations, victims don’t even see themselves as victims at all, and so they feel no need to get help. Of course, those around them know better and recognize their need for full recovery both inside and outside from their experience. Those who love these individuals can be confused as to how to find them the help they need. Thankfully, Saved in America does the work for them and helps them find the help they need. However, for other areas of the country or for victims who are not involved with Saved in America, apps like this REACH tool are immensely valuable and helpful, making a full recovery much more likely.
