Evil Women

Although it is most common to think of men when contemplating who is behind the evils of the human trafficking industry, women also have been proven culpable. A recent news article from the Daily Reflector reveals that a Greenville woman was arrested for her part in a reported kidnapping and subsequent sexual assault of a young girl, aged seventeen. The forty-year-old woman is charged with human trafficking of a child, second-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, and sexual servitude of a child and is currently in custody at the Pit County Detention Center with a bond of $1 million.

How The Woman Was Found

Deputies were called to perform a welfare check on the girl who was believed to be suffering from mental health issues. When the deputies arrived on the scene, the girl told them that she was being victimized and was being held against her will. The investigation into this case is still ongoing at this time.

Human Trafficking Predators

Rarely, do human traffickers look like what you might expect. They are often younger than you would assume and some are even kids. The triad of evil, which makes up the backbone of modern human trafficking according to Saved in America, is composed of members of street gangs, drug cartel members, and prison gangs. However, their appearance can seem innocent or at least less scary than you would assume. They have been proven to use recruiters as well, showing up on middle and high school campuses. Therefore, the bad guy could be a woman, another kid, or a guy that seems very sweet and innocent. That’s what makes it so hard for kids today. The predators don’t always look the part of a criminal, so kids and parents have to be extra vigilant when interacting with anyone, even people they think they know.
