News Sack

Sharing breaking and trending news stories with their readers News Sack shared some encouraging news about some good guys doing some very necessary work fighting back against human trafficking. As an addition in their crime section, Saved in America was interviewed and the topic of human trafficking and what they are doing to counteract this crime was discussed. This San Diego-based group was formed to fight back against the growth of human trafficking throughout the United States.

SIA Works With Law Enforcement

Due to founder Travers' history in law enforcement as well as many other volunteers who have a law enforcement past, it’s clear that Saved in America was never created to take the place of law enforcement. Instead, it’s a group designed to help, assist and aid in surveillance and other time-consuming work (free of charge) that police departments often simply cannot do, especially when the missing child is a runaway. Overall, SIA offers appreciated help making the lives of law enforcement easier. In fact, Mike Williams who is a sheriff from Duval County, FL explained their contribution as follows:

“It is partnerships like this one that plays a significant role in law enforcement today, not only from a public safety perspective but also as an opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of those who have been victimized before.”

Summer Stephan a San Diego County Deputy District Attorney added the following:

“They can be a very helpful team because victims tend to not trust the police sometimes.”

Helping After the Rescue

In addition to tracking down and finding the missing child and then sharing this information with law enforcement for them to perform the rescue, Saved in America also serves in other capacities. This group ensures that victims get the help they need by providing information and resources about follow-up care, rehabilitation, and even safe houses. They also provide legal advice to hopefully ensure that the predators are put away for as long as possible and also help navigate any legal issues the victim might be having as a result of their experience. Suffice to say that when it comes to fighting for victims of human trafficking, there is no other organization that is doing more than Saved in America.
