Teen Found

While instances of human trafficking continue to grow across the nation increasing to epidemic levels, the victories that exist need to be immensely celebrated. Village News shared one of these “good news victories” when they told the story of a Fallbrook teen, Siena Stubbs, and her safe return to her loving family. 

Siena’s Story

Siena allegedly ran away from her Fallbrook home on April 28th and was later reported missing to the San Diego Sheriff's Department. The fifteen-year-old girl left her parents a note but didn’t take a cell phone with her, leaving her parents no way of tracking her. The San Diego Sheriff's Department along with the Chula Vista PD worked together with Saved in America, a team of specialist volunteers who are committed to helping families and law enforcement in such cases find the missing child before further harm comes to them from the human trafficking rings. 

Siena Was Found and Brought Back Home

Siena’s grateful father was elated that his young daughter was rescued from a harmful situation in which she found herself trapped. He said the following about her successful rescue:

“Multiple people from the San Diego Sheriff's Department were helping in their capacity, in addition to the Chula Vista Police Department and the nonprofit Saved in America.”  

Siena’s father also thanked the Village News for spreading the good news of at least one case that ended positively. 

Over 200 Rescues and Many More to Go

Thankfully, Saved in America has overseen over 200 successful rescues, saving kids from the human trafficking industry since their initial operation in December 2014. Saved in America is an organization made up of professional volunteers who give their skills and time freely to families who are searching for their missing children. They work in conjunction with law enforcement and all volunteers are licensed professional investigators as well, meaning they can follow the letter of the law to find kids the right way. After a child’s rescue, SIA also comes alongside the family and offers additional help for the child, ensuring they get the help they need to recover from the trauma they experienced. They also provide help in terms of litigation to increase the chance that these predators are prosecuted as they should be under the law.
