Gift of Life
The Mr. Cup of Joe Show interviewed Blues Hall of Fame’s own Darrell Mansfield and Saved in America’s Joseph Travers about the various ministries that they have come together to create, including the Bibles for Marines ministry, which is in essence giving the gift of life. All the ministries that these two and others have gone together to launch are founded on the principles of Christianity and showersers, whether they be soldiers or victims of human trafficking that there is hope in Jesus.
The Gift of Life
The “why” behind the Bibles for Marines and the creation of Saved in America is similar. It is to give the gift of life. In one case, the recipients are getting the actual word of God, formatted in a way designed for a soldier. Conversely, with Saved in America, young girls are saved from human trafficking and given another chance at life.
Saved in America
Joseph Travers began Saved in America as a way to combat the ever-growing problem of human trafficking within America’s borders. While other organizations were fighting back against these atrocities abroad, no one was focused on making America safer. Thankfully, through the efforts of Saved in America over 200 girls have been rescued from the industry and given the help they need to rehabilitate. Many of them are living healthy, happy lives today and are advocates for the organization. Today, Saved in America utilizes some of the military professionals that once valiantly served our country to seek out and find these missing kids who are facing a horrific reality within the human trafficking industry.
All Efforts Are Aimed at the Same Goal
To sum it up, no matter if they are rescuing a girl from human trafficking, or they are working to give out Bibles to Marines, the focus is Christ and serving Him in a way like no other. Never forget the children who have become victimized by the industry or the soldiers, many of which shoulder the burden of our freedom allowing us the right to believe as we do. Therefore, both these ministries and many others these two are involved with are worthwhile and a good place to donate. As Darrell Mansfield and the Good Book said, “God’s word will not return void.”
