San Diego, Emmeline

Paul and Marina Foley found themselves living in a real-life nightmare after their fourteen-year-old daughter Emmeline went missing. While the local police were helpful, they were immensely overloaded. Since every second counts in the case of a missing child, Emmeline’s parents were losing hope. They were afraid their daughter would be lost to them forever. Thankfully, a family friend recommended they contact Saved In America.

Saved In America Went to Work

Through their professional volunteers and investigative efforts, Saved In America found Emmeline. In addition to all the work they did to find their daughter, Emmeline’s family said that they were the family’s daily support, giving advice and getting them through some of the worst days of their lives. The Foley family advised any other family facing a similar situation to “Get help quick. Every day is critical. Do not rely on the police to take action to find your child. They will help, but there are limits to what they can do.”

San Diego is a Hot Spot

Although sex trafficking happens all over America, San Diego is on the list as one of the top 13 highest sex trafficking areas in the entire country. Furthermore, according to statistics, 100% of San Diego County schools studied found that trafficking recruitment was occurring in their middle and high schools. Human trafficking rings are overseen and organized by gangs that use the same methods to oversee the selling and marketing of individuals that they use to move drugs and weapons.  Joseph Travers, co-founder of Saved In America explained the evils of this industry as follows:

“Gang members give their lives to crime and evil, they’ll shoot you for a dime and not care, daughters and granddaughters are a commodity, girls are worth more than drugs. They can resell a girl over and over again.”

Travers goes on to explain how the whole trafficking situation happens right under the noses of parents:

“Predators recruit girls in junior high, online is also a problem, but they lure girls with jewelry, pay for their hair and nail appointments and brainwash them. They get the child away from their family and security, then rape and beat them, and use drugs like marijuana, ecstasy Xanax, and heroin to hook them. Once a girl is on heroin that’s it, that’s all they want.”  #ChildSavedNotSold
