#ChildSavedNotSold
Sadly, more than two million children worldwide are subject to human sex trafficking, almost 100,000 are in the United States alone. The number of victims that are successfully rescued from these heinous crimes stands at less than 2% according to a Global Slavery Index. Thankfully, Saved In America is committed to finding each missing child in America before they become part of this statistic. This is the mission, a child saved, not sold. This interview featuring Sean, a former Police Lieutenant, explains what people in America need to know about the reality in terms of human trafficking as it exists today. His comments along with other volunteer interviews explain the dangers that are rampant within the United States
It’s Happening Right Here
Many people assume that human trafficking is only a danger that exists in third-world countries or perhaps here at home only affecting low-income or neglected children. While neglected or abused children are at a greater risk of becoming victimized, as it stands in America right now, all kids, from all backgrounds are at risk of being victimized by this horrific industry. It can and does happen to the kids next door to you, or just down the road, or in the same classroom as your child.
Saved In America is Trying to Find Kids
Unfortunately, kids are coerced through grooming into trusting their captures. Once they have given them their trust, the kids are often encouraged to run away from home. In many cases, the predators follow up and pull them into a human trafficking ring. Many kids don’t realize what is happening until it is too late and they are either addicted to drugs or have been traumatized or victimized by the industry. Thankfully, Saved In America is working to educate the public on the risk of human trafficking. They are also volunteering their efforts towards finding and assisting in the recovery of kids who have run away before they can become a victim of a human trafficking ring.
Know The Signs
Saved In America explains that it’s important for parents to know the signs of grooming, to look at their kids’ phones and other devices, and know how they are interacting online. Many modern predators use social media to pull the child into their trust before they realize what is happening. Parents must be the first step toward protecting their children against these dangers. #ChildSavedNotSold
