Former Navy SEALs
Navy SEALs, which stands for Sea, Air, and Land, in the U.S. Navy is a group of specialized soldiers who have been trained for military service. When fighting for our great land abroad, they use this training to overcome terrorists and seek out those who wish to harm Americans or their way of life. Some of these highly trained individuals upon retirement have continued fighting against evil by joining forces and helping to launch our own Saved in America.
The Role Saved in America Plays in Rescuing Children
There are predators and those who seek to harm the innocent even those living within the borders of America. These predators and pimps are out to exploit young girls for their monetary gain through the human trafficking industry. Saved in America is a group of highly trained professional volunteers, such as former Navy SEALs, who are now committing their military training to find missing and exploited children on the home front. Saved in America founder Joseph Travers explains the problem parents can find themselves facing when dealing with a missing child:
“Most of the parents are in a panic stage, and they’re waiting for something to happen. So, now the family is at a standstill. They have to go find their child on their own, and most people don’t know how to do that, so we fill the gap.”
Standing in the Gap
America is experiencing an epidemic rise in human trafficking throughout all 50 states. This has overwhelmed most law enforcement agencies which simply don’t have the manpower, the funds, or the training needed to track down and combat human trafficking rings and rescue children. Thankfully, groups like our own Saved in America—made up of many former Navy SEALs and other highly trained individuals— are standing in the gap. They are serving the role of protector to track down and find these missing girls. Once they are located, local law enforcement is called, and they often make the actual rescue.
Post Rescue Recovery and Rehabilitation
After the rescue, our organization gets the girls the help they need to recover from their abuse and traumatic experience through rehabilitation and safe houses. Saved in America also commits a great deal of effort to prosecute the predators, ensuring they get just punishment under the law.
