The problem of human trafficking, today’s modern-day slavery, is rampant even in our own beloved nation. It is far from a third-world problem as it affects virtually every nation on the globe, and our own beloved nation is no exception. In fact, America in particular has extremely high human trafficking numbers, which led Joseph Travers and others to found our organization Saved In America back in 2014. Through our organization’s efforts, and the help of many professional volunteers, we have assisted in the recovery of more than 260 girls from the horrors of human trafficking. Thankfully, fundraising efforts, like the highlighted fundraising dinner Child Saved and Not Sold make it possible for our non-profit organization to continue our important work:
Huge Black Market Business
Human trafficking within America’s borders is a serious problem. In fact, it is a billion-dollar industry in San Diego and is listed behind only drug trafficking as the largest black market industry in the nation. Child sex trafficking has been reported in all 50 states, and there are on average 300,000 missing children in our country on any given day. Since around 40% of those who are missing will end up trafficking, this means, daily around 120,000 children could be the victims of this heinous crime.
Saved In America is Fighting Back
Due to the immense scope of the problem, a gallant effort at combating this issue is necessary to make a dent in the problem. Thankfully, Saved In America is stepping in to the problem and offering a solution, free of charge. This does mean, though, that our nonprofit organization depends on financial support to continue our recovery efforts. While we never charge a family a single dime for our work, the equipment needed to track kids down as well as the necessary travel expenses can get costly. That is what makes fundraisers like the one highlighted above so important. Through fundraising efforts, we can continue our work, providing life-saving and life-changing services that are having a positive impact on an evil industry. Anyone who would like to be counted as part of our organization can give towards our efforts and have a hand in helping recover America’s youth from human trafficking. #ChildSavedNotSold
