Sex Trafficking in USA
Vet Talks with our own Master Chief Kirby Horrell, founder, and creator of Saved in America, explains the moment he realized his next calling in life, after military service. Kirby of course had an illustrious military career that spanned decades and included notable aspects like him training SEAL teams and earning a Purple Star. At the end of his military career, he was searching for a new focus, a new mission. This episode begins with Kirby explaining how he got into the military and what he accomplished during his impressive career.
How Kirby Got Involved After Being Inspired by White Paper
After retiring from the military and being an active and impactful part of many overseas missions and training operations as well, he found new inspiration for a mission on the home front thanks to a white paper. This white paper was published by a notable professor from a respected university in the United States. It shared the horrifying truth of sex trafficking as it existed within America’s borders. This was a shocking revelation to Kirby who had no idea the scope of the problem even existed on the home front. This opened his eyes and he became inspired to do something to combat the problem and fight for the freedom and safety of American kids.
Vets Are Perfectly Suited to Combat Human Trafficking
Military veterans have been purposely trained to fight for the freedom of the innocent both here and abroad. Therefore, their specialized training, surveillance, and mission experience make them ideally suited to fighting against human trafficking. They know what it’s like to go after a well-funded and well-established regimen that is out to do evil. They know how to use stealth and technology to ascertain information needed to get the job done, all while lying low enough to avoid detection.
The Mission is Immense
The scope of the mission is immense within the United States. The main avenues for sex trafficking correlates with the main drug corridors within the states. This isn't a case where these predators are bringing in girls from other countries and exploiting them within the industry. Instead, the industry is built on a foundation of American girls who have become unwilling or coerced victims of this heinous crime. Fighting against this is the mission of Kirby and the other professional volunteers at Saved in America.
