Leak Project
The Leak Project featured guest, a former Navy SEAL, Master Chief, and Special Warfare Operator, Kirby D Horrell with a naval career spanning 1967-2014, highlighted the work our organization, Saved in America is doing to fight against the increased numbers of human trafficking within America’s borders. This former SEAL who spent a career guarding America’s interests is now working on the front lines on the home front against the evils of the human trafficking industry.
Saved in America is a Team Effort
As Kirby explains on the show, being part of Saved in America is much like being a SEAL. You are part of a team. It’s not about winning or individual accolades with these military and law enforcement professionals. Instead, it’s about getting the job done as quickly and safely as possible. In this case, that means tracking down and finding missing or runaway girls before they become victims of the human trafficking industry, returning them to their homes and the safety of their families, all while ensuring they get the help they need to recover and heal from this ordeal.
The Media Doesn’t Share Important Information
Many people are woefully unaware of the scope of human trafficking in America today. They wrongly assume that it is only an issue facing other countries, perhaps those who don’t value human life as greatly as we do here. However, the numbers paint a different picture. Human trafficking is thriving right here in America, and ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands of kids and their families daily. Astoundingly, some 300,000 kids are reported missing daily across the nation and of that number, around 120,000 will end up being the victim of human trafficking. This means that sex trafficking is the second-largest black market industry in the nation, behind only drug trafficking. These are facts we simply aren’t being told in the media. Consequently, many have no idea how big this problem is or understand the dangers facing today’s kids.
Navy SEALs Save the Day
Thankfully, Kirby, along with other professional volunteers has made it their daily mission to locate and rescue missing and exploited children. In addition, shows like the Leak Project are getting the word out and spreading awareness of a problem that for many are simply unknown within America’s borders.
