Unshaken Show San Diego

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children report there to be over 800,000 missing children in this country at any given time. Of that number, at least 30% will be trafficked into sex slavery. Prevention is obviously key in reducing this horrifying statistic. It is this topic that is expounded upon when our own Saved in America is discussed on the Unshaken Show San Diego with Bekah V.

The Importance of Saved in America

As part of the Unshaken Show, a representative from Saved in America shared the importance of our organization and how it was started. It was started by Joseph Travers who saw an immense need for such an organization during his time as a police officer. He came to learn in later years that the problem was only growing as the triad of evil, made up of prison gangs, street gangs, and drug cartels, moved from trafficking drugs to selling human lives.

Saved in America Made up of America’s Best

Travers believed that the way to create an organization that could fight against the evils of the triad is to use volunteers who were highly trained and ultra-specialized. Therefore, all Saved in America volunteers are either former law enforcement or military specialists. Their immense training helps them be able to find these missing kids and get them out of danger safely and efficiently.

The Trafficking Nightmare is Just The Beginning

The show further explained that even after rescue, especially in the case of a child who was sold into the human trafficking industry, the nightmare doesn’t end with their rescue. The trauma these kids experience causes feelings of fear, guilt, shame and more, leading to memory loss, depression, anxiety, and difficulty in relationships, all of which causes significant instances of post-traumatic stress. Thankfully, Saved in America is committed to walking alongside these kids even after their rescue takes place. They help these kids find the help they need to recover and go back to living a healthy, happy life.
