Discover Magazine spotlighted Saved in America and the work that this organization does, along with highlighting the problem of sex trafficking within the United States in general and San Diego in particular in an engaging article. With the mantra “Child saved, not sold,” Saved in America is committed to getting the word out about the horrendous crime of human trafficking and is shining a light exposing its dark underbelly to the world.

The Problem Within San Diego

According to the informative article, San Diego alone estimates there to be multiple thousands of runways at any given time within the county, according to San Diego’s District Attorney. This number is especially problematic when you consider the fact that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that within 48 hours one-third of runaways will be lured into or recruited into pornography and prostitution. Perhaps even worse, San Diego County Schools have found that 100% of their schools have had incidents of trafficking recruitment on campus. Read that again, 100%!! This reveals the immense scope of the problem as it exists in San Diego and highlights the need for Saved in America. Speaking of which…

Call to Duty

Thankfully, in light of these unthinkable stats, it’s good to say that Saved in America has answered the call of duty. This San Deigo-based organization that serves countrywide is made up of former law enforcement and military professionals who have committed their lives to the rescue of kids who are being victimized by the human trafficking industry. The first rescue of just such a child was completed in 2014 and since that time, Saved in America has been part of rescuing an additional 238 children nationwide.

No Families Are Ever Charged For Rescue Services

These seasoned and highly skilled professionals are all licensed private investigators who understand the nuances of the industry and how to conduct a safe rescue. They work with law enforcement officials, ensuring the child is safe and then help the child get the recovery help they need after they are rescued. Saved in America even assists in the prosecution of the predators responsible when possible. All of this is done free of charge, with no families ever being charged even one dime for the services of Saved in America.
