VCBA Holds Annual Meeting
The Valley Center Business Association or VCBA for short were finally able to hold a post-COVID-9 annual meeting in the Valley Center. It was a happy affair with the many professionals within the community coming together to discuss issues and spend time together as a group. The happy event featured VC Fire Chief Joe Napier as the MC. He took the opportunity to update the community on the status of Fire Station 3 and other topics of note for those in attendance.
Saved in America’s Joseph A. Travers
Also taking part in the event as the first speaker was our own Joseph A. Travers, founder of Saved in America. He used the opportunity to share with the community leaders the impact and necessity of our nonprofit’s mission. He explained how kids are being kidnapped and subsequently enslaved by an evil triad of cartel drug traffickers, pimps and prison gang members. Often, these kids are girls and they are being lured with drugs in many cases.
Travers explained that the Saved in America team was made up of all sorts of professionals including former police officers, a member of the British SAS (Special Air Service), a retired Navy chief, former Navy SEAL and more. Each volunteer is also a licensed private investigator. None of these specialty services cost families a single penny either as our organization is backed by donations from the public.
As an interesting show and tell part of the night, Travers welcomed anyone who had the desire to come on board the motor home, aka command central for the organization, which he brought along. All guests were invited to have a look around at the home base for the organization that can be driven anywhere in America.
The message also explained the dangers facing today’s kids with online grooming practices, and how the organization utilizes social media in many cases to determine where a missing child might be located. Once a child is freed from their captures, Saved in America follows up with the families, helping them file civil cases to hopefully keep these guys off the streets, giving them less access to victims. Saved in America also ensures that the rescued kids get the rehabilitative help they need to overcome their experiences and hopefully begin living a healthy productive life.
