Locating 11

It is easy to forget when one is outside looking in, but behind each number or statistic of a missing child is a real-life face, a real-life smile and a real-life soul that is being exploited, children who are loved and missed by their families, friends and communities. Thankfully, our own organization, Saved in America is on the job and committed to finding as many of these missing children as possible. Since our first rescue in 2014, we have rescued 250 additional children. Our organization is proudly joining with others committed to finding missing Nevada children by seeking to track down 11 specific missing kids.

A Group Effort

Saved in America works in conjunction and partnership with law enforcement professionals to track down and find missing children. Unfortunately, even though they desire to do more, police departments nationwide are woefully understaffed and overwhelmed with their workloads, leading research-intensive cases, like those involving missing or exploited children to get brushed to the side in some cases. Founder of Saved in America Joseph Travers explains below:

“What happens is the police, unfortunately, don’t have the resources to take on a runaway child and make it a high priority. So what we do at Saved in America, the whole idea for us is to fill that gap and to assist parents and law enforcement and say okay, we know there’s a problem, and there are runaways. Here’s how we can help”

Finding a Runaway Isn’t Easy

Travers and the team at Saved in America are working with the LVMPD in Las Vegas to help locate 11 missing youths. Saved in America is never involved in snatch and grabs. Instead, they do the hard work of surveillance, lead verification and social media investigation to figure out where the missing child is located. Once we know this information and have eyes on the child, we call law enforcement to come onto the scene and perform the actual rescue. In other words, our organization does the prep work that the police simply don’t have the resources or officers to do and then lets the officers go in and finish the job. Our organization works to aid police departments, not to cut them out.
