Teen Rescued
This enthralling story, shared by People, reveals the true-life horror lived out by parents of a normal 16-year-old girl. Parents, Maureen and David knew that something very bad had happened to their daughter when she failed to contact them after she was supposedly biking to a friend's house from their own one afternoon. It was soon discovered that not only was their daughter missing but so was the friend with whom she was visiting. The ensuing chaos after they realized their daughter was gone was filled with frantic phone calls asking everyone they knew if they had any idea where their daughter was. The police were brought into the picture and a private investigator was hired.
Maureen said the following about the situation they experienced searching for their daughter:
“We were trying to do all we could do ourselves, but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. You could go broke hiring people to help you and still not find anything.”
Saved In America on the Case for Free
Thankfully, bringing the expertise of our professional volunteers at Saved In America on board meant that this family and others like it didn't have to “go broke” getting the help they deserve to search for their children. Amazingly, less than a week after Travers’ team joined the case for Maureen and David’s missing daughter, she was rescued in Compton, California. Her family wasn’t charged a dime to utilize the services offered by the extremely skilled professionals at Saved In America and a life was saved.
Founder of Saved In America Understands the Prevalence of Human Trafficking in Modern Times
The case of Maureen and David’s missing daughter is far from unique. In fact, within America’s borders there is an ever-increasing number of missing and exploited children as predators, made up of gang members and drug cartels, who continue to victimize children for their own financial gain. Joshua Travers said the following about the prevalence of the problem:
“People don’t realize this is going on in their own backyards. This isn’t in some faraway country with very poor people. This could be your next-door neighbor, your child, anyone’s child. A lot of these kids are from middle class families in the United States. They aren’t incredibly poor or involved in abuse or bad situations.” No one is immune to trafficking. #ChildSavedNotSold
