48-Hours

The founder of our organization, Joseph Travers appeared on the KUSI TV program to talk more in-depth about Saved In America and why its work is so vital in America today. While many assume that human trafficking or modern-day slavery is a problem only affecting third world or underdeveloped countries, it is alive and thriving within the greatest nation in the world. Technology, among other factors, has led to an increase in trafficking, which of course was part of the motivation behind creating an organization like our own to assist overworked and understaffed police departments with the burden of finding missing kids.

The Golden 48-Hour Window

Statistics prove that 60% of kids who run away are approached by a human trafficker within the first 48 hours. This means that there is a 48-hour window that can literally mean the difference between life and death. It can determine if it will be a simple rescue or a long, lengthy recovery process to overcome the trauma of the child's experience. Unfortunately, due to the workload of most police departments, it isn’t unusual for a case to not even appear on the desk of the responsible detective within that time frame. This means that within the all-important 48-hour window, there are many cases that don’t even have the eyes of a detective yet. That is where we step in and fill that need, providing immediate help to families in an effort to find these kids before they become victims of this heinous crime.

No Fees For Parents

We estimate that due to equipment costs and the price of travel, such as rental car costs and hotel stays for the involved volunteers, each child requires approximately $5,000 to recover, however every operation varies. Of course, for the family of a missing child, no price is too high to pay for the recovery of their child. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford that cost even if they are desperate. Thankfully, at Saved In America, they don’t have to. No family is charged for our services whether they could afford them or not. Our entire staff is made up of highly trained volunteers who are also licensed and insured private investigators, and we are funded entirely through donations and fundraising events that make recovering children free of charge. #ChildSavedNotSold
