Transitional Safe Home

Our commitment at Saved In America only begins when a child is found and restored to their previous life. It doesn’t end there, not even close. In fact, in many cases, we understand that after rescue from this horrible situation, children face even more dire circumstances because they have nowhere to go, at least nowhere safe to go.

Why Are There Kids Without a Place to Go?

In some cases, when we help find a child—working with their parents alongside law enforcement— after their rescue, they are handed back over to the safety and support of their families. In most cases, though, some 60% of cases, the children we rescue don’t have a family to go back to because they are foster children, sometimes living in abusive situations that did not provide a safe, restorative environment . These kids can sometimes end up back on the street. Of course, we believe no child deserves to be left to live on the streets or to be alone, especially not a child who has just endured the hardships of sexual abuse and neglect.

What Does a Transitional Safe Home Look Like?

Our goal at Saved In America is to build a transitional safe home in San Diego that will serve the purpose of keeping kids (aged up to age 17) safe who have just been recovered from the sex trade industry. The home will be secure, protected and guarded to ensure that kids are not at risk or danger from predators. The child— and their family in many cases— can stay at the safe house for 14 days after rescue. After this time, the child will move to a long-term rehabilitation center. During those all-important first 14 days after their rescue, we at Saved In America will work with experts and specialists to assess the mental, physical and emotional needs of each victim and then determine what they need next in their road to recovery.

Recovery is a Long Term Process

At Saved In America, we understand that recovery from such a traumatic situation is a long term process. It won’t happen instantaneously. Instead, it takes a concerted effort on the part of our organization and countless other professionals and volunteers to address the situation at hand and work towards restoration and a second chance on life. We are happy and honored to accept any donations that are given to fund our recovery efforts and assistance for a safe home, rehabilitation and scholarships to help children succeed in life post-rescue. #ChildSavedNotSold
